Proceeds benefit the American Center for Elemental Music and Movement
Late winter and early spring can be a challenging time for both teachers and students. Energy is low, routines feel stale, and everyone is counting the days until spring break.
Fractured Fairy Tales offers a fresh, playful approach to Orff Schulwerk instruction that reinvigorates the classroom through imagination and storytelling. In this webinar, David Thaxton and Crystal Pridmore present a collection of elemental lessons inspired by familiar fairy tales, reimagined with humorous twists and creative problem-solving.
Participants will explore how to use story as a catalyst for movement, singing, speech, and mallet work while maintaining strong pedagogical foundations. Each lesson emphasizes active music-making, collaboration, and student choice. Practical strategies for scaffolding, adapting, and extending activities across grade levels will be shared.
Teachers will leave with ready-to-use lessons and renewed inspiration for bringing joy and creativity back into their classrooms at just the right moment in the school year.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email that includes the link to the live event on Zoom. And in the days following the event, the webinar recording and downloadable materials will be added to your online library.
